Khordong Society in Estonia was founded in 2000. According to a vision of Chhimed Rigdzin Rinpoche (1922-2002), a lineage holder of Khordong tradition of Tibetan Buddhism, a gompa should be built in Estonia. By the auspicious coincidence of various circumstances the place for building a gompa was chosen to be the village of Umbusi in the center of Estonia. It is also a birth place of the first Estonian Buddhist Saint, brother Vahindra, also known as Barefooted Tõnisson (1873-1962).
Here, we are going to be updating you on any news about the project. We will also try to provide information about Nyingma tradition in general and Nyingma Jangter in particular.
